Moderators
Dr. S.V. Madhu, Reader in Endocrinology at the University College of Medical Sciences in Delhi is the moderator of the CME program on Saturday, October 14.
Dr. G.R. Sridhar, Editor of the Indian Journal of Endocrinology and Metabolism from Visakhapatnam is the moderator of the CME program on Sunday, October 15.
This CME is tentatively approved for 10 RSSDI Credit Hours
Novo Nordisk India, USV, Torrent Pharmaceuticals, Eli Lilly, Hoechst Marion Roussel, Nicholas Pirmal, Life Scan, British Biologicals, Sun Pharmaceuticals, Bal Pharmaceuticals, Novartis India, Shree Ambica Pearls and Mano Pharmaceuticals are partly supporting travel costs within country and local hospitality of invited faculty.
International travel costs are graciously borne by the invitees themselves.
Displaying and distribution of banners, posters, notices or drug information, and canvassing of any commercial nature by the sponsors inside or near the meeting venue will be restrained to avoid disturbing the CME proceedings. Exhibiting products and other displays will be allowed only in the spaces assigned to the sponsors.
Lectures at this International CME are for senior primary care clinicians, who are very actively involved in diabetes day care delivery but not in research. As epidemiology and statistics may not interest most of them, invited faculty is requested to present more photographs, pictures, graphs, none or less tables, few references, and no statistics. The presentations need not always be justified with the available evidences, references and study details such as materials and methodologies.
The emphasis at this CME is on Experience based medicine (beyond Evidence).
Write-up suggestions were given to invited faculty with an intention to prepare all lecture materials as a printed book for the future reference of the delegates, pending availability of adequate funding for publication. Faculty have readily obliged and submitted the text of their presentations as review articles with tables, graphs and references. But this publication is not sponsored, and the funds are inadequate for printing and distributing to all delegates.
Proceedings will be printed and made available at a print cost price of Rs.100 each at the venue for the delegates.
As the organizational costs are prohibitive, we will not be able to provide registration bags, pads, pens, compliments etc. Delegates are requested to please collect identity, lunch and dinner coupons at the meeting venue, and also to keep them on person at all times during the meet days. The lunch and dinner coupons will be strictly collected from the delegates in the catering areas. Kindly oblige and please cooperate with us in saving on the organizational expenses.
In spite of all these several non academic short comings, the IX APDF is carefully designed to be the best academic meet for clinicians interested in diabetes. Organizers sincerely hope and wish to provide delegates with a great opportunity to meet and hear to many senior teachers from India and abroad.
Hotel Ramada at Airport Exit is the venue for the meeting and accommodating the dignitaries. Hyderabad Airport is in the center of the twin cities of Hyderabad and Secunderabad, and the meeting venue is easily accessible to all important places, hotels, Railway and Bus stations of twin cities within a few minutes
To keep the organizational costs at minimum, no assistance in local stay arrangements, sight seeing or return travel will be made available to the large number of IX APDF participants expected to be about 500 from all over the country. There will be no registration or information desks in the venue.
Registered delegates are requested to make all necessary arrangements well in advance before arriving in Hyderabad, and to kindly refrain from seeking help from local organizers during the meeting days.
All pharmaceutical sponsors are readily willing to help the registered delegates. IX APDF participants are requested to seek the assistance of local pharmaceutical executives in their regions for stay, travel and any other requirements in Hyderabad.
Please contact any of the following hotels for booking your accommodation and also send one day room rent in advance direct to the Hotel.

Evento Auspiciado por
The first International diabetes meeting in India sponsored by 500 clinicians from across the country
As sponsorships from pharmaceutical companies are hard to get in this millennium year, a small contribution of Rs.500 was solicited from senior practicing physicians from all over the country, as early registrations to IX APDF. There was an unprecedented benevolence from 477 clinicians and scientists by October 12, in spite of this year's IDF rush and the multitude of millennium conferences.
